Olson House, which captivated painter Andrew Wyeth, is a newly selected National Historic Landmark. When I visited the place made famous in Wyeth’s iconic 1948 painting, “Christina’s World,” I was moved to write this essay on Olson House, excerpted from my book, Maine’s Museums: Art, Oddities & Artifacts (Countryman Press).
